Navy pants are a workwear staple you can wear through all seasons. I first styled these wide-leg pants from Ann Taylor in my Winter Workwear Capsule Wardrobe and today I’m back with four ways to wear them for spring and summer.

Four Outfits for Work with Navy Pants
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Ann Taylor Perfect Wide Leg Pants
Ann Taylor has deemed these pants “perfect,” and I agree. They are a flat front style with a slim, wide leg. The cut is the best I’ve found for my frame. I sometimes struggle with pants being too snug on my hips and thighs from Ann Taylor, but these fit me well in my true size (Petite 00). They are medium weight, so I would consider them an all-season pair of pants. In petite they have a 28.5″ inseam, which works the best on me with a low 1-2″ heel. In the winter I styled these pants with boots, but for spring and summer I went with a neutral low kitten heel. The pants are machine washable, but I recommend hanging them to dry.
My work wardrobe outfits are often simple and use many of the same pieces over and over again.
I paired all of these outfits with simple pieces you can throw on and go, but still look put together. I find that most of my readers are looking for simple and versatile. We all love a beautifully styled outfit but for practicality reasons I tend to stay simple with my accessories and shoes in all of my workwear posts. You may notice that the shoes and bags are often the same throughout my work outfit posts – I do that on purpose so you can build a petite-friendly realistic work wardrobe. I try to share a blend of casual and business casual outfits and mix in requests that I get often. You’ll see a mix of sleeveless and sleeve options based on requests I receive from my readers.
With a Blazer
To make this outfit spring and summer appropriate I went with a sleeveless top and a lightweight linen blazer. The top is a polished option that looks great worn on its own, if you’re able to go sleeveless at work. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS, but it is a little bit snug on me at the chest – so you may want to size up. The blazer is a J.Crew blazer that has been on my blog many times now. You may recognize it from my Spring Workwear Capsule Wardrobe. It has a perfect fit, I wear it in Petite 00.

With a Simple Blouse
Just like we love jeans and a cute top, we love pants and a nice blouse for work. It’s a simple combination that you can create with one pair of pants and multiple nice tops. For this post, I found two blue and white options. The white and blue top is from LOFT. It’s true to size and is fully lined. I love it tucked in, but this one also looks nice untucked.

The next top is also true to size. It’s not lined, so it’s a little more lightweight than the top above. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS and consider it true to size.

Short Sleeve Sweater
I first shared this cropped sweater with olive pants in this post. I mentioned there that while the top is beautiful, it runs small, so I recommend a size up. It is a lightweight sweater so while it’s not heavy, some may find it too warm for spring and summer. To keep from showing your midsection when wearing it to work, I would add a camisole underneath.

I’m often asked what kind of undergarments to wear with certain pants. For these pants, a pair like this will give you the best no-show look. If you prefer bikini/brief styles, this pair is also great.
