A good blazer is one of my favorite layering pieces for fall, but finding one that fits a petite frame can be tricky. The sleeves are often too long, the shoulders too wide, or the body too boxy. After lots of trial and error, I’ve found a few petite blazers that actually fit and feel great on my 4’10” frame. In this post, I’m sharing three petite-friendly blazers that are perfect for fall and beyond.

Three Petite-Friendly Blazers for Fall

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

J.Crew Madelyn Blazer

When it comes to a petite blazer, I think J.Crew makes some of the best. Their blazers (and the less expensive versions from J.Crew Factory) almost always have a near-tailored fit on me. The Madelyn blazer is a modern, longer fit with a slightly drawn-in waist for shape. I love that the sleeves are spot on for petites—no tailoring needed—and the shoulders fit beautifully.

I went with the Burnished Saddle color, a versatile neutral that works year-round, but it comes in six colors total. I’m wearing Petite 00 and found it true to size with enough room to layer a light sweater underneath. This one feels polished but modern, and I know I’ll be wearing it on repeat this season.

Banana Republic Factory Plaid Blazer

A close second to J.Crew for petites are the blazers from Banana Republic Factory. While I love Banana Republic, their prices inflated a few years ago, so I usually stick to Factory for more affordable finds. This plaid blazer is thick and warm with a brushed wool feel that’s perfect for fall layering.

In Petite 00, it’s true to size with room for layering, though the sleeves do run just slightly long on me, covering the tops of my hands. I don’t mind though—I love pushing the sleeves back for a more relaxed look. The plaid is timeless and pairs easily with denim, trousers, or even over dresses.

Banana Republic Factory Sculpt Stretch Blazer

If you’ve ever felt restricted in a typical blazer, the Sculpt Stretch Blazer from Banana Republic Factory is one you’ll love. It’s designed with stretch built into the fabric, so it moves with you instead of feeling stiff.

I went with classic black, but it’s available in other colors too. In Petite 00, it fits true to size with sleeves that come slightly over my hands, but overall it’s well proportioned through the shoulders and body. It’s a comfortable option you can wear for work or dress down with jeans on the weekend.

Blazers always add a little polish to an outfit, and these three are just a few petite-friendly picks for the season. Whether you’re looking for a timeless plaid, a modern longer fit, or a stretchy everyday option, these blazers will take you from work to weekend with ease.
