Petite-Friendly Colored Pants & Jeans
My Measurements & Proportions
Anytime I share petite-friendly pants or jeans, it’s important to point out that we can be the same or similar in height but have different proportions. So, for comparison purposes, here are my measurements: I’m 4’10” and my waist and hip measurements are 24″ and 36″. I have a 25″ inseam to my ankle bone and often choose 27-28″ inseams for full-length styles. My true size is 00/24/xxs. I’m overall proportionate, meaning I don’t have a long torso or legs for my height. By my measurements, I’m pear-shaped.

The Under $50 Petite-Friendly Jeans From Amazon
- Size Wearing: XS in Orange Rust
- Inseam: 26″
- Rise: 10″
First up, an under $50 pair of jeans from Amazon. Including multiple blue denim washes, these jeans come in a handful of bright, bold colors as well. They are meant to be cropped, but the 26″ inseam is a perfect full-length for most petites. I find these jeans to be stretchy and overall true to size. I recommend following their size chart. You can find the size chart by scrolling down a ways on the product page. The jeans are a little loose on me through the rise and waist, so they slip down some with wear. If in between sizes I think a size down is a good option, or adding a belt.

Chino Kickout Crop Pants (that are a great full-length for petites)
- Size Wearing: 24 in classic length
- Inseam: 28″ in classic | 26″ in petite
- Rise: 10.5″
The Charley Kickout Crop Pants from J.Crew come in petite, if you want to wear them cropped, but I chose the classic length so they would be full-length on me. These pants are very similar to the Lizzie Pants at J.Crew Factory, that I reviewed in this post, but are thicker and have less stretch. They are chino, 97% cotton with 3″ elastane for light stretch. You can expect them to loosen with wear. The pants have a 10″ rise and a 28″ inseam in regular and a 26″ inseam in petite. I find the pants to be loose at my waist and tight on my hips and thighs. So if you’re similar to me, I would choose your true to size. A size up to accommodate my thighs would make them too big for me, and they loosen with wear, so I’m not concerned with the tightness there on first try. The extra room at my waist is there, but not enough to make them a poor fit.

Madewell The Perfect Vintage Wide-Leg Crop Jean
- Size Wearing: 24 Standard Length in Dusty Celadon
- Inseam: 27″ (standard) | 25″ (petite)
- Rise: 10 7/8″″ (standard) | 9 3/4″ (petite)
The Madewell Perfect Vintage Wide-Leg Jean comes in both a cropped style and a full-length style. I initially chose the cropped style in the standard length because the light green (Dusty Celadon) wasn’t available in petite, and the measurements looked promising. Once I tried them on, I found they are a perfect full-length in standard sizing, and I prefer the rise of standard over petite. The jeans have that oh-so-comfortable Madewell stretch denim and are incredibly comfortable! They’re true to size, I’m wearing them in 24.

Kallie Straight Pants from J.Crew Factory
- Size Wearing: 00 Petite in Pine
- Inseam: 25″ in petite
- Rise: 10 ” in petite
The Kallie Pants from J.Crew Factory are a classic slim straight style of pants that are perfect for the office. The Kallie Pants are released in a range of colors throughout the season, with this deep, dark green being perfect for fall. The pants are designed with built-in stretch so they’re comfortable to wear. The Kallie Pants run true to size—I wear them in Petite 00, and they fit perfectly without any need for hemming or alterations. In petite sizing, they feature a 10″ rise and a 25″ inseam, making them ideal for shorter frames.

Hayden Pants from Banana Republic Factory
- Size Wearing: 00 Petite in Bright Wine
- Inseam: 29″ in petite
- Rise: 10 ” in petite
The Hayden Pants from Banana Republic Factory have a 29″ inseam, so they’re a touch too long for me with a pair of flats. But these pants are so perfect otherwise, I don’t mind wearing heels (for reference, my heels are around 2″). The pants have a stretch elastic waist with a flat front and elastic at the back. The fabric is thick and forgiving and drapes beautifully. They’re true to size and machine washable. A great pair of pants for work.
