Petite-Friendly Midi & Maxi Dresses

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Abercrombie Convertible Midi Dress

The first dress is a unique option from Abercrombie that can be worn as both a dress and a skirt. It surprisingly fits me well either way. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS. The dress features adjustable, removable button straps, and the smocked bodice is snug enough to wear strapless. I would consider it true to size, but if you have a larger chest, you may want to size up.

Worn as a skirt, it becomes a full maxi length. I tucked the smocked bodice in to better accommodate my frame. Worn as a skirt, I paired the dress with a denim vest. I love the length of this vest from Banana Republic Factory. It fits me well, mostly, but is a little loose at my chest – I’m wearing it in a size 0.

LOFT Smocked Toile Midi Dress

This dress has a great fit and is versatile. You could wear it for an occasion like Mother’s Day or a graduation, but it also makes a great everyday dress. The dress is smocked at the top and has a back zipper closure. It has a great fit at the arm openings and isn’t too tight or scratchy at the smocking. The skirt is fully lined and has pockets. The fabric is lightweight, so it’s one that will keep you cool. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS/00 and find it to fit true to size.

LOFT Mixed Media Maxi Dress

This all-white maxi dress has a soft, stretchy top and a cotton skirt. This dress has a perfect fit. It fits me well at the arm openings, doesn’t gape at the chest, and is comfortable to wear all around. I like the ruched feature down the front and the fact that you can wear it with a regular bra. The skirt is fully lined and not sheer. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS and would consider it true to size.
