Spring Dresses for Petites
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Boden Ava Cotton Midi Dress
Boden makes some of my favorite spring and summer dresses thanks to their unique prints, classic designs, and petite-friendly fit. The Ava Cotton Midi Dress is an embroidered shirtdress with functional buttons at the chest, pockets in the skirt, and a fabric belt so you can cinch it to your waist. I recommend your true size, though you could size down if you’re between sizes. The green color is beautiful for spring and summer. The dress is unlined and slightly sheer in direct sunlight, so I suggest wearing a slip underneath.

Boden Ivy Cotton Midi Dress
The Ivy Cotton Midi Dress from Boden is another embroidered option, this time in a rich rust color. It features stretch at the waist, buttons at the chest, and pockets in the skirt. I love the added scallops on the sleeves and hem. This style runs slightly large, so I recommend sizing down for the best fit. It’s unlined and lightweight, so I suggest wearing a slip underneath. The embroidery on both dresses makes me think of vacation! Since they’re lightweight, they’re perfect for warmer weather and sunshine.

Boden Alexa Long Sleeve Dress
The Alexa Dress is made from 100% cotton and features functional buttons all the way down. It’s a classic collared shirtdress with a fabric belt and pockets. I love the blue-and-white colorway, though it also comes in a green print. This dress fits true to size, and I’m wearing it in Petite 0. I would wear this as a spring/summer day dress, but also for occasions like church and celebrations.

Hyacinth House Pemberton Dress
The Pemberton Dress is comfortable and stretchy with plenty of swing through the skirt. I love the blue-and-white print and the way the dress drapes and moves. In XXS, it fits me well overall. One thing to note: the fabric feels different than a typical jersey—it’s silky and almost reminiscent of a bathing suit. I was a bit surprised by the feel at first, but once I tried it on, I fell in love with the fit and found the fabric to be very comfortable.
