My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). These jeans are stretchy, comfortable, with a 10.5″ rise and inseam options. The 26″ inseam is a full-length straight style on me, which works beautifully with ballet flats, loafers and sneakers. Like all Bella jeans, I find these shrink in length in the dryer over time. The pair I’m wearing here has been washed and dried multiple times so they appear shorter than they come from the store.

This style also starts at a 26″ inseam, making it a great option if you need an even shorter length. To note, the jeans shrink in the wash, most of mine have shrunk about an inch over time.
J.Crew Factory Stovepipe Jeans: 10″ Rise/26″ Inseam (wearing petite 24)
The Stovepipe Jeans are a dark clean wash with a 10″ rise and a 26″ inseam in petite. I find them to fit true to size with comfortable stretch. They are 88% cotton/10% TENCEL™ lyocell/2% elastane.
Quince Bella Wide Leg Jeans: 10.5″ Rise/ Inseam options starting at 28″ (wearing 24 x 28″ in midnight blue)
The Bella Wide Leg Jeans fit me well at the hips and top of my thighs, but taper wide instead of going straight down like the Relaxed Straight. They have a 10.5″ rise and come in inseam options starting at 28″. I find these jeans to be true to size, they don’t bag out with wear, but do shrink in the wash. I find mine shrink some in length with washing and drying.
J.Crew Slim: Jeans 9″ Rise / 26″ Inseam (wearing petite 24)
The J.Crew Slim Jeans are a classic slim-straight style with comfortable stretch. They come in multiple washes, but this dark, clean wash is my favorite—it’s easy to dress up or down. They’re true to size and do shrink slightly in the wash over time. While they relax a bit with wear, they hold their shape well overall. If you prefer lightweight, stretchy denim, these are a great option.
Four Outfit Ideas for Work with Jeans
In this post I chose two different styles of denim that are both petite-friendly and hit different style preferences. The Stovepipe Jeans from J.Crew Factory are a dark wash slim straight style with a 10″ rise and a 26″ inseam. If you prefer a mid-rise option, I recommend the Slim Jeans from J.Crew. Outfits for Work with Relaxed Straight Jeans
I love the Bella Relaxed Straight Jeans—they’re one of my most-worn pairs. On petites, they give the look of a slim wide leg and come in several washes, including Stormy Blue, which is a dark, clean wash. The jeans are stretchy and comfortable but still hold their shape with wear. They fit true to size, though I’ve found they do shrink slightly in the wash over time—about an inch in length—so keep that in mind when choosing your inseam. These start at a 28″ inseam, which is the length I wear for a full-length fit. I styled them with a knit cropped cardigan and a structured blazer.
