With Spring Break right around the corner, I know many of you are gearing up for a sunny getaway. When it comes to travel, comfort is key. I usually reach for jeans, sneakers, and a sweatshirt—plus a lightweight coat depending on the weather. I also love a comfy matching set or a pair of stretch pants that still look polished. In today’s post, I’m sharing three petite-friendly travel outfit ideas that are comfortable, practical, and easy to wear on the go.

Petite-Friendly Travel Outfits
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Stretch Wide-Leg Pants
I recently bought the viral Target pants I’ve been seeing all over social media. I usually struggle with fit at Target, so I didn’t have high expectations—but I was pleasantly surprised. The pants have a 28″ inseam in XS Short. If you have trouble finding the short length on the Target website, you need to scroll to the right; the short sizing appears after the standard options.
Based on reviews and tips from a few helpful readers, I was warned that these pants shrink in the wash—even if you hang them to dry. I hung mine, and they did shrink about an inch. For me, they still work well (and actually fit a little better after shrinking), but it’s definitely something to keep in mind. I was told by readers that drying them in the dryer resulted in at least 2″ of shrinkage.
The fabric is stretchy and feels more like leggings or yoga pants. They’re not a true dupe for the crepe pants from Aritzia or the pair I recently shared from Banana Republic Factory—the look is similar, but the fabric is different. That said, they’re an affordable, comfortable option that works especially well for travel and casual outfits.
I added the jacket as an extra layer and as an easy way to bring one along without having to pack it. I love the cropped length, but a full-length jacket would work just as well with this outfit if that’s your preference for travel.

Fleece Set
If comfort and warmth are high on your priority list, you’ll love this fleece set from Banana Republic Factory. It’s thick, warm, and incredibly soft. While it doesn’t come in petite, the regular length has a 28″ inseam, so I decided to try it. The fit is slightly roomy on me, but I’d still recommend sticking with your true size. I know light colors aren’t for everyone when it comes to travel, but this set is available in several other color options as well.

Endless Pants
I recently shared a review of several petite-friendly pants from Athleta, including the Endless Pants. They’re lightweight, moisture-wicking, and have a slim straight fit that feels comfortable while still looking polished—making them ideal for travel. In petite, they have a 25.5″ inseam and run true to size. I chose to size up in this pair, so they fit a bit roomier on me. I added a lightweight dolman top on top and underneath I’m wearing a tank top in case it’s hot on the plane or at your destination.

Wherever your travels take you I hope this post gives you some ideas for traveling in comfort! In case you’re curious, I love my Beis bag. I’ve taken it on many trips. If I could do one thing over, I wouldn’t buy the light color, and would instead buy a darker one – you can imagine it’s been hard to keep clean.
