3 Petite-Friendly Holiday Outfits with Velvet

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Velvet Wide-Leg Pants + Tulle Peplum Top (LOFT)

For a fun and festive holiday outfit, I paired wide-leg velvet pants from LOFT with a tulle peplum top, also from LOFT. It’s a dressy, statement-making look but still comfortable and easy to wear.

  • Pants fit true to size, but if you border between sizes, consider sizing down
  • In Petite 00, the pants have a 10″ rise and 28″ inseam
  • Soft, thick, and warm, the pants don’t have belt loops, which I appreciate. I love a clean look with dressed-up outfits.
  • Tulle peplum top is true to size with a beautiful, structured fit
  • Side-zip closure, fully lined, and topped with a velvet bow at the back

The slip was perfect for two reasons: it added coverage where the blouse is sheer and it also kept my tights from sticking to the velvet skirt. This outfit is feminine, pretty, and simple — perfect for the holidays without feeling overdone.

For the third outfit, I styled a short-sleeve velvet mock-neck top from Banana Republic Factory with a classic silk midi skirt from Quince. This combination is elegant and timeless, and it works well for holiday parties as well as more elevated family gatherings.
