A Mix of Nine Petite-Friendly Summer Outfits
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Ecru Denim Skort
A skort is the best of both worlds. This denim option from J.Crew comes in a soft off-white stretch denim that’s comfortable and easy to wear. It fits well in my true size without feeling too tight through the hips, and the medium-weight denim isn’t see-through or revealing underneath. It also comes in a medium wash denim. I styled the skort two ways in this post: once with a cropped short-sleeve sweater and again with a fringe sleeveless top.

Cuffed Shorts
I paired an olive pair of cuffed shorts from LOFT with a seersucker peplum top from Banana Republic Factory in this outfit. The shorts are true to size and have a relaxed fit that doesn’t cling through the hips or thighs. The fabric is lightweight but not sheer, and they fit me well in my true size, Petite 00.
The top also fits me well in XXS. It has comfortable stretch at the waist along with a flattering peplum shape that adds a little structure without overwhelming a petite frame. I also appreciate that there’s no gaping at the chest or arm openings, which can sometimes be an issue for petites.
Overall, this is such an easy throw-on-and-go summer outfit that still feels polished. It’s lightweight, comfortable for hot weather, and easy to dress up a bit with wedges or keep casual with flat sandals.

Palmer Pants
In this outfit, I paired a cropped denim top with the Palmer Pants from LOFT in a soft rosy color. The pants have a 10″ rise and a 24″ inseam based on the Petite 00 I’m wearing. The fabric has comfortable stretch and feels easy to move in, but they do run large at the waist, so I recommend sizing down if you’re between sizes or prefer a closer fit.
The denim top fits true to size in XXS with no gaping at the arm openings, and the cropped length hits right at the top of my hips, which pairs well with high-rise bottoms like these pants. The denim is soft and lightweight, so even though it’s denim, it still feels comfortable and seasonally appropriate for summer.
I love this combination for a casual but polished summer outfit. The soft mauve color adds a little variety to a neutral wardrobe, and the cropped proportions help balance the wider leg of the pants on a petite frame.

Sawyer Pants
In this outfit, I went with lightweight linen pants paired with a simple white top and added jewelry for a little extra interest. The pants have a slim wide-leg fit that feels easy and relaxed without overwhelming a petite frame. They fit true to size, and in Petite XXS I measured a 10″ rise and a 27″ inseam. The lightweight linen fabric makes them especially nice for warmer weather. They’re 100% linen but I actually thought they were chambray when I put them on. They’re softer and more structured than I usually expect from 100% linen.
To accessorize the look, I added a colorful beaded necklace. These necklaces have been a big trend this season, and I happily jumped on board. I found a great option on Amazon that I ended up buying in a few different colors because they’re such an easy way to add personality to simple summer outfits. They look especially cute layered with basics like this white top and chambray pants combination.

Activewear Shorts
This is a typical on-the-go active outfit for me from spring through early summer. The shorts are from Old Navy, and I love both the color and the soft, stretchy fabric. They’re comfortable for everything from walks to errands and fit me well in XS.
I paired them with a cropped sweatshirt layered over a tank top, which is my go-to combination for cooler mornings or overly air-conditioned spaces. The cropped fit works especially well with high-rise shorts, and I like that I can easily take the sweatshirt off if the weather warms up throughout the day.

Chambray Shorts
I bought these shorts a few weeks ago, and they sold out in petite sizing pretty quickly, so I hesitated to include them in this post. But I decided they were still worth sharing in case they come back in stock because I really love the fit. They’re also still available in standard sizing if you want to give them a try.
The shorts are a lightweight pull-on style with a comfortable fit. I paired them with a simple striped tank top and budget-friendly sandals for an easy summer outfit that feels effortless but is still put together.

Wide Leg Jeans
For the cooler days of spring, I paired wide-leg jeans with a relaxed boho-style top from J.Crew. The jeans are the Bella Wide Leg Jeans from Quince, which I’ve reviewed extensively in other posts. For a quick fit reference, they have a 10″ rise and a 28″ inseam in a size 24 Short. The pair I’m wearing here has shrunk and shortened slightly in the wash, but if you want to minimize shrinkage, I recommend washing them in cold water and drying them on low heat.
The top from J.Crew has an easy, relaxed fit and is made from 100% cotton, which makes it lightweight and breathable for spring. It features open lace detailing at the chest, so I prefer to wear it layered over a nude camisole for a little extra coverage. Together, the relaxed top and wide-leg denim create an easy spring outfit that feels comfortable while still looking put together.

Linen Blend Dress
Last is a simple linen blend dress from Banana Republic Factory in a soft sunny yellow. The dress is soft, lightweight, and fully lined, so it’s not sheer even in a lighter color. It fits true to size with a slim, flattering shape and a tie belt at the waist that helps define your shape without feeling restrictive.
I styled it with simple sandals and gold jewelry for an easy summer outfit that feels polished with very little effort. This is the kind of dress that works well for everything from vacation dinners to casual summer weekends, and the cheerful yellow color feels especially perfect for the season.
