My eight-year-old self would be absolutely thrilled that jelly shoes are back. Honestly, I’m pretty excited about it too. Thankfully, the updated versions feel much sleeker and more wearable than the jelly sandals I remember from childhood.

After trying a few pairs, I landed on this pair from Sam Edelman and am excited to wear them this summer.

What sold me on them is the slim profile and the fact that they actually come in a size 5 and fit true to size. I chose the clear version because they visually disappear on the foot, which helps keep the leg line long on a petite frame. They’re lightly padded and comfortable for everyday wear, although I wouldn’t call them especially supportive if you typically need extra arch support. Bonus points that the footbed isn’t white and doesn’t draw attention to the portion of the shoe that my toes don’t cover.

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). Green Above-the-Knee Dress + Jelly Shoes

A fun way to style these jelly shoes is with an above-the-knee dress. I paired them with a green summer dress that feels lightweight and perfect for hot weather.

The clear jelly shoes work especially well here because they don’t visually cut off the leg line the way darker sandals sometimes can, even with the chunky strap.

Quince Organic Cotton Maxi Skirt + Simple Tank

I styled the jelly shoes with Quince’s organic cotton gauze maxi skirt in the soft blue and white gingham print paired with a simple fitted t-shirt. The skirt is soft, lightweight, and incredibly comfortable for summer.

The sleek shape of the jelly shoes helps balance the volume of the skirt without adding heaviness at the foot. I also think these shoes would look especially cute with mini skirts for summer.

For petites, I like pulling the skirt up slightly higher at the waist to help balance proportions and shorten the overall length a bit.

Soft Pink Shorts + Soft Pink Top

For a more casual everyday outfit, I paired the jelly shoes with soft pink shorts and a lightweight sweater. The clear sandals keep the outfit feeling light and summery without competing with the softer color palette.

I especially like jelly shoes styled this way because they almost act like a neutral sandal while still feeling a little trend-forward.

The shorts are a follower-recommended pair from Banana Republic Factory. They have a modest 4″ inseam and a slim fit (I’m wearing them in XXS). My top is currently sold out, but is from LOFT. It was a sneak preview last week, so it’s possible it totally sold out then, but also possible it will be popping back up with the new arrivals release.

Striped Cotton Linen Pants from LOFT

For the final outfit, I paired the jelly shoes with striped cotton linen pants from LOFT. The relaxed fit of the pants combined with the slim profile of the sandals creates a really balanced look for petites.

One thing I like about these shoes with longer pants is that they don’t add visual bulk at the bottom of the outfit. The clear finish keeps everything feeling lightweight and elongating, especially with cropped or ankle-length pants. The pants are true to size with a 27.5″ inseam in petite.
