Neutral Outfits for Work

I love a neutral outfit, and apparently, so do many of you! My petite workwear posts are always some of the most popular on my blog, but the neutral outfits tend to be at the top of that list. So, in today’s post, I’m sharing another round of petite-friendly neutral outfits for work that I hope you’ll love.

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Peplum Sweater + Wide Leg Pants

I pulled out a reader favorite for this outfit—the Crepe Drape Palazzo Pants from LOFT. These pants have a generous, drapey fit with a comfortable stretch panel at the back of the waist. In petite sizing, they have an 11.5″ rise and a 27.5″ inseam. They’re one of the pairs of pants I receive messages about all the time! I find them to be true to size and wear Petite 00.

I paired them with a top from Abercrombie that fits me well in XXS and chocolate brown accessories.

Collarless Blazer + Wide Leg Pants

I found this collarless blazer at J.Crew Factory, and it’s a perfect fit! It’s well tailored through the body, sleeves, and shoulders. I’m wearing it in Petite 00.

The pants are the Sloan Pants from Abercrombie. I’m wearing them in 24 Short, with an 11.5″ rise and a 28.25″ inseam. I find this length works best for me with heels, but they also pair nicely with boots through the winter.

Sweater Dress

I found this sweater dress at Banana Republic Factory and love the fit for petites. It’s true to size through the body, but the sleeves are still a little long on me, so I have them cuffed under. I’m wearing the dress in Petite XXS for size reference.

It’s a true wrap style, so the skirt can open in the front as you move. For that reason, I would layer a slip underneath for a little extra coverage. I’ve styled it here with a sleeveless cotton poplin top layered underneath.

Double Weave Wide Leg Pants + Cardigan

The Double Weave Wide Leg Pants from Banana Republic Factory are some of the best quality pants I’ve come across lately. The fabric is thick, comfortable to wear, and not prone to wrinkling. Overall, they feel very well made, especially for the price point. They’re true to size and fit me well through the hips and thighs without being too tight.

I paired them with the classic J.Crew Jackie Cardigan. I recommend sizing up in the cardigan for the best fit.

Suede Skirt

Last is a faux suede skirt outfit paired with a cotton poplin top and chocolate brown accessories. The skirt is from J.Crew Factory and runs a little slim, so I recommend going up a size for the best fit. I’m wearing Petite 0.
