I first bought and reviewed these jeans from Luvamia on Amazon last year for a teacher outfit series, and since then I’ve received so many messages from readers who bought and loved them too. They’re a well-priced option if you want to experiment with colored denim without spending a lot.

I’m wearing them in XS, and they fit me well overall. For size comparison, I typically wear a 00/24 in jeans. The denim is soft and stretchy, but it does loosen some with wear. They’re also a little loose on me through the rise, particularly around the area where the pockets meet the tops of my thighs.

They have a 10″ rise and 26″ inseam, which gives them a cropped wide-leg fit on me. I’m wearing the bold orange, but they also come in pink along with several classic denim washes.

If you want color but prefer something a little more subtle, the Lizzie Pants from J.Crew Factory are a great option. I love this dark brown shade because it has a hint of purple to it, giving it a little more depth than a traditional neutral.

These pants have a slim wide-leg shape with patch pockets and a lightweight, stretchy fabric. They’re true to size for me and comfortable through the hips and thighs, although they do loosen some as you wear them.

The petite pair has a 10″ rise and 28″ inseam, which works well for a longer, slim wide-leg silhouette on my frame. J.Crew Factory also releases this style in different colors throughout the season, so they’re a good pair to check back on if you find a shade you love.

I recently reviewed the ankle version of J.Crew’s Slim Wide Jeans in my post about jeans with inseams under 25″, but this pair is the full-length version.

In petite, they have a 10″ rise and 28.5″ inseam. That’s quite long for many petites, and on my 4’10” frame I need a low heel to wear them without alterations. However, if you’re petite and prefer a longer inseam, they’re one to consider.

The denim is thick with some stretch and feels substantial. They’re true to size overall, although they’re a little snug across my hips when I first put them on. That isn’t uncommon for me with J.Crew jeans, and since they loosen with wear, I stay with my true size rather than sizing up.

The Spanx Stretch Twill Cropped Easy Flare Pants aren’t a perfect fit for my proportions, but I wanted to include them because I think they could work particularly well for a different petite build. I’m wearing XS, and they’re roomy on me overall. I’m a true 00/24, and I would say the XS fits more like a size 0. If you’re the exact same size as me, these may not be the best option.

They also have a very high 11.5″ rise, which is quite high for my proportions. However, the 25″ inseam is a great petite length. Although Spanx calls them cropped, the leg opening is narrow enough that they can easily be worn as a full-length pant on a shorter inseam.

If you’re petite with a longer torso and shorter legs, these proportions may work especially well for you.
