Today I’m sharing six petite-friendly spring dresses in a mix of high and low price points. A couple are budget-friendly finds, a couple are more investment pieces — but all of them work proportionally on a shorter frame.
As always, I’m paying attention to the details that matter most for petites: length, waist placement, strap and sleeve proportion, and overall fit. I’ll share how each one fits on my 4’10” frame, what size I’m wearing, and whether I’d consider it truly “wear right from the store” approved with honest fit and quality notes.
If you’re getting ready for spring events, or just want easy everyday dresses that don’t overwhelm your frame, these are six worth considering.

Petite Spring Dresses: 6 High & Low Styles
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Mona Linen Mini Shirt Dress from Anthropologie
I’ll start with the best fit of the six. The Mona Dress from Anthropologie is a linen blend (viscose and linen) that’s fully lined and beautifully made. It’s a true mini length, hitting well above the knee, which helps create the look of longer legs on a petite frame.
Because it’s a blend, the fabric feels soft and doesn’t wrinkle as easily as 100% linen — a big plus for spring and summer wear. The fit is excellent overall. The sleeves have volume without being overly puffy at the shoulders, which can be a tricky silhouette for me to pull off.
I’m wearing it in Petite XXS and find it to be true to size.

Zesica One Shoulder Dress (Amazon)
I hesitated to share this one because my experience didn’t quite match what’s shown online. I ordered the maxi dress pictured on the model — which appears longer with a dropped waist — and the review photos reflect that version as well.
The dress I received, however, is shorter (the size chart notes XS as being 46″ but my dress is 44″) and the waist is not dropped. For me, that ended up being a win. The proportions work much better on my frame than I expected and it’s an all-around great dress.
I’m wearing it in XS in the color Beangreen. It’s possible the fit varies slightly by color, so that’s something to keep in mind. In XS, I find it true to size with a soft, stretchy cotton feel. The fit on me is beautiful and easy to wear — definitely one worth trying – fingers crossed you receive the same dress I did.

By Anthropologie Long-Sleeve Corset A-Line Mini Dress
This dress has the sweetest print and such a pretty silhouette — but it does come with a few caveats.
First, what I love. It’s offered in standard sizing, yet the length works surprisingly well on my frame (which makes me think it may run short if you’re not petite). I love the print and the long sleeves, and the details are really charming — there’s a smocked panel at the back, a tie at the upper back, and decorative buttons down the front.
Now for the considerations. The fabric is lightweight and sheer, which feels a bit disappointing at this price point. I plan to wear a slip underneath, but it’s worth noting. I wasn’t able to get my true size (XXS), so I’m wearing an XS here and do notice some extra room, especially through the chest.
It’s not a perfect fit for me, but I still wanted to share it because the silhouette is so cute — and if your bust is larger than mine, you may find it fits beautifully and is a great length.

Petite Side Paneled Midi Pocket Dress
This 100% cotton dress from LOFT comes in a beautiful shade of purple. It’s comfortable and easy to wear, and I love the unique panel detailing at the arm openings — it gives it a little something extra.
The fabric is thick and comfortable, and can easily be worn casually or dressed up just a bit. It does run large through the waist, so I prefer it styled with a belt for more shape. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS and would recommend sizing down for the best fit.

Free Assembly Women’s Smocked Peplum Maxi Dress
It’s the tie straps that make this dress work for me. This lightweight maxi dress comes in a beautiful blue and white or sage green and white floral print, and the adjustable straps allow me to shorten it to suit my proportions.
With the straps adjusted, the hem hits right at the top of my feet, so it works best with a pair of heels. I’m wearing it in XS and find it slightly roomy through the top. The skirt is lightweight and unlined 100% viscose (you can easily add a slip) — and it has pockets, which is always a bonus.

LOFT Scalloped Eyelet Midi Dress
I think this eyelet midi dress would be perfect for Easter. It’s fully lined to the knee, features short puff sleeves, and has functional buttons down the front. The dress has full back coverage for a modest fit. I love the soft color palette and the delicate eyelet detailing — it feels classic and spring-ready.
The dress does run large, particularly through the chest, so I would recommend sizing down.
