Where to Wear Spring Dresses
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Vacation
If you’re heading on vacation soon, this all-white dress is one to consider packing. This versatile neutral works for just about any destination—pair it with sandals for a beach getaway or add a silk scarf at the neck and ballet flats for a European vacation.
The dress is a mixed-media style made primarily of cotton with a touch of spandex for stretch. The top is double-lined and stretchy, with ruching for added shape and straps that are wide enough to wear a regular bra comfortably. The skirt is fully lined with a textured stripe overlay, so it’s not sheer. It’s an easy piece you can wear with both flats and sandals. It’s true to size, I’m wearing it in Petite XXS.

Work
A work dress really depends on your office dress code and environment. This one is a classic sheath dress that you can easily pair with a blazer for a more polished, power look.
The dress is from WHBM and is fully lined. I find it to be true to size overall, though it is slightly snug across my hips. It has a bit of stretch, so you can comfortable move and sit and in this dress through the day.

Graduation Guest
I recently shared a few graduation guest dresses and received requests for more options. A wide range of styles can work for a graduation—from polished to more casual.
For this post, I chose a long-sleeve option from Ann Taylor. It’s actually the long-sleeve version of the sleeveless dress I shared in my original post. The dress is fully lined with a sheer overlay and features an attached fabric belt that cinches the waist. I find it to be true to size.

Graduate
If you’re a graduate—congratulations! I wore a dress nearly identical to this navy style (in black) under my cap and gown.
This one is from Kohl’s and fits me well in XS. The fabric is lightweight and stretchy. It’s unlined but not sheer, which makes it easy to wear. The arm openings run slightly large, but not enough to show undergarments.

Mother’s Day
I start my Mother’s Day at church, so I like to wear a dress. This dress has a great fit, is smocked at the top, and has a back zipper closure. It has a great fit at the arm openings and isn’t too tight or scratchy at the smocking. The skirt is fully lined and has pockets. The fabric is lightweight, so it will keep you cool. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS/00 and find it to fit true to size.

Baby/Bridal Shower
If you’re attending a baby or bridal shower, a dress is always an easy choice. This yellow eyelet dress from Ann Taylor is a great casual option you can wear for a shower, but it also works for the office or a relaxed summer day.
The dress is fully lined and true to size, with functional buttons all the way down and a fabric belt to define the waist. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS.
