Butter yellow is everywhere this season. So, it’s no surprise that I’ve received many requests in my inbox for yellow. Admittedly, butter yellow doesn’t look great on me, so it’s not something I’ll be adding a lot of to my wardrobe. I look better in gold, so that I’m all for, or prints with a little yellow mixed in, but overall, light yellow washes me out. While it’s not a favorite for me, for you, I’ve rounded up a few petite-friendly yellow summer outfits.

Summer Outfits by Color: Yellow
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Gold Top
Starting off the post with a shade of yellow I can work with – gold. This top is from Anthropologie, so of course, it has lots of unique details. This top is cinched at the bottom, has flutter sleeves, and snaps at the chest. I love that it gives a tucked-in look without being tucked in. I’m wearing it here in XXS and find it to fit true to size.

Yellow Dress
This is the Bettina Mini Shirt Dress from Anthropologie. It has a roomy, comfortable fit, but I would consider it to be true to size. If you prefer a closer fit, I think you could size down. It comes in regular and petite sizing; I’m wearing it here in Petite XXS. If you’re like me and yellow isn’t your favorite, this cute dress also comes in other colors.

Yellow Cardigan
I went for one of my favorite cotton cardigans from Quince in soft butter yellow. This is the Organic Cotton Fisherman Cardigan. It washes well, is thick and soft, and is just all around one of my favorites to wear. This shade of yellow is muted and light – I felt like it was a nice pairing with white linen shorts and a jersey boatneck tank top.

Yellow Cotton Top
In the last outfit, I went for the white linen shorts paired with a crinkled cotton tank top. This top is lightweight and breezy – it will definitely keep you cool this summer. I’m wearing it in XXS here and find it to fit true to size. It is a little bit sheer, so it may be one to wear a camisole with.
