Blue is one of those colors that never feels out of place in a summer wardrobe. From soft chambray and coastal-inspired prints to bold cobalt shades, blue is versatile, easy to style, and works for everything from the office to vacation.
As part of my Summer Outfits by Color series, today I’m sharing six blue outfits that I’ve recently worn and tested on my 4’10” frame. Whether you’re looking for a summer dress, vacation outfit, workwear inspiration, or an easy shorts outfit, these looks show a variety of ways to wear blue this season.

6 Blue Summer Outfits for Petites
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Blue and White Mosaic Print Dress
The first outfit features a linen and cotton blend dress from LOFT in a beautiful blue and white mosaic print.
This dress feels polished while still being lightweight enough for summer. The skirt is lined while the bodice remains unlined, helping it stay comfortable in warmer weather. It also features fully functional buttons all the way down the front and sleeves, making it an easy option for work or other occasions where you want a little more coverage.
I love the combination of the structured shirt dress styling with the soft blue print. It’s a versatile piece that can easily transition from the office to weekend wear.

Crinkle Pants and a Cobalt Blue Top
For the second outfit, I paired Abercrombie’s Gemma Crinkle Pants with a reversible cobalt blue top.
The Gemma pants run large, so I recommend sizing down. They feature an 11″ rise and a 28.5″ inseam, which is a bit long on my 4’10” frame. I prefer wearing them with a low heel to keep the proportions balanced.
I chose the ivory color, and while the pocket bags are slightly visible, nude undergarments are not. Overall, they’re a lightweight and comfortable option for warm-weather dressing.
The reversible cobalt blue top is double-lined and includes built-in bra cups, though you can still wear a regular bra if you prefer. I found the top runs small and sized up for a better fit.
I think this outfit would be great for vacation.

Printed Wide-Leg Pants and a Wrap Top
This outfit is another vacation-ready favorite.
I paired LOFT’s blue and white mosaic print pull-on wide-leg pants with a cropped wrap top from Ann Taylor. The pants are true to size and feature a 10″ rise and a 27.5″ inseam in petite sizing, making them a great length for petites.
The lightweight print feels perfect for summer, while the wrap top balances the volume of the pants nicely. The cotton poplin fabric keeps the outfit feeling crisp and polished while still remaining comfortable in warm weather.

Embroidered Midi Dress
Next up is a midi dress from Nic + Zoe, a newer brand for me.
The fit on this dress immediately impressed me. In petite sizing, the proportions are excellent through the chest, shoulders, and arm openings, areas that can often be difficult to get right on a petite frame. The bodice features soft smocking, which creates a comfortable fit without feeling restrictive, while the full midi skirt gives the dress beautiful movement.
My one criticism is that it’s unlined, which I found disappointing given the price point. That said, the fit was so good that I decided to keep it anyway.
I’m wearing Petite P and found it true to size.

Tiered Top and White Jeans
For a more casual everyday look, I paired a tiered top from LOFT with white jeans.
The top is roomy in Petite XXS, and doesn’t draw in at the waist like it’s shown on the model. But with a tiered silhouette, I actually prefer a little extra ease. It creates a relaxed look without feeling oversized.
The white jeans are also from LOFT and have become a favorite. They feature a high rise measuring over 11″ (very high for petites) and a 24.5″ inseam in petite sizing.

White Shorts and a Chambray Peplum Top
For the final outfit, I paired Quince white denim shorts with a chambray peplum top from Nordstrom.
The chambray top fits me perfectly in XXS and is one of those easy pieces that works beautifully untucked, something I know many of you will appreciate.
I paired it with Quince’s white denim shorts for a casual summer outfit that’s comfortable, classic, and easy to wear with sandals.
