Thanksgiving is the perfect occasion for a comfortable, cozy outfit that still feels a little dressed up. Whether you’re hosting at home, spending the day with family, or heading out for dinner, I love outfits that are easy to wear but still feel put together.
In today’s post, I’m sharing four casual Thanksgiving outfit ideas for petites. I’ve included two outfits with pants, one with jeans and another with corduroy pants, along with two dresses that pair beautifully with knee-high boots.

4 Casual Thanksgiving Outfits for Petites: Dresses, Jeans & Cozy Sweaters
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Sweater Dress + Knee-High Boots
A sweater dress is an easy choice for Thanksgiving because it’s comfortable and looks put together without much effort. For this outfit, I chose a sweater dress from Anthropologie with a relaxed fit that bells out toward the bottom. I love the shape of this dress because it doesn’t cling at all so it’s just as comfortable as it is cute.
The dress comes in petite sizing, but I chose standard sizing for a little extra length. I find it to be true to size, and the standard length works well for pairing with knee-high boots.
I styled it with a classic pair of knee-high boots, which are a great way to add a little warmth while still showing some leg. If you live somewhere colder, you could easily add a pair of tights underneath.
I also love pairing sweater dresses with a tailored topcoat. It’s an easy finishing layer that makes the outfit feel a little more dressed up and provides warmth if you’re heading out for Thanksgiving.

Wide-Leg Jeans + Striped Sweater + Brown Boots
If your Thanksgiving plans are casual, you can’t go wrong with jeans and a sweater. For this outfit, I paired my Bella Wide Leg Jeans from Quince with a funnel-neck striped sweater from Madewell and chocolate brown boots.
The Bella Wide Leg Jeans are one of my favorite pairs from Quince. I’m wearing them in the Midnight Blue wash, which is a beautiful dark wash that works well for fall and winter outfits. They’re true to size, with a 10″ rise in my size (10.5″ average rise) and a 28″ inseam in Short.
This is the kind of outfit I’d wear for a casual Thanksgiving at home or a relaxed family gathering.

Corduroy Pants + Cotton Sweater
Corduroy pants are another great option for Thanksgiving. They have a cozy texture that feels perfect for fall, and they’re a nice alternative to jeans when you want something a little different.
For this outfit, I paired the Jean Corduroy Wide-Leg Pants from Kut from the Kloth with a roomy 100% cotton sweater from Gap.
The corduroy pants are made from a soft, medium-weight fabric with a little stretch. They have enough structure to hold their shape but are still comfortable to wear. I’m wearing them in 00 Petite, and they have a 10.25″ rise and a 28.25″ inseam.
The sweater from Gap has a roomy fit, making it a cozy option for Thanksgiving. I especially appreciate that it’s made from 100% cotton.

Mixed-Media Dress + Knee-High Boots
For the last outfit, I chose another dress that looks beautiful with knee-high boots. This one is a mixed-media style with a stretchy turtleneck top and a swing skirt with a satin-like finish.
The dress is true to size, and I’m wearing XXS. It comes in petite sizing, but I chose the standard length for a little extra coverage. The skirt is fully lined, which I appreciate, and the fabric has a pretty satin-like finish that makes it feel a little dressier.
